List of tasks on google slides


Here is a list of tasks that should go on your introduction to media google slides.  Every time you you complete a practical task explain the task and your decisions/what you learnt. All your homeworks will also be added on here as well as on edulink. 

INTRO TO MEDIA

1.Set up google slides and title it Introduction to Media studies class notes Intro to LIAR

2. Set up a wix on wix.com (see tutorials) and add the labels introduction, newspapers, film, video games, radio, music video, advertising, magazines, NEA, DIRTS. Email the wix link to Miss Brookes kbr@gbhs.co.uk so I can upload onto the media blog. 

3. On your google slides apply LIAR to your assigned text

4. Genre task - describe task given genre and upload video with a summary of your choices

5. Photoshop introduction with film poster task - what was the task, what did you learn, evaluate your finished product

6. Semiotics homework -  analyse the denotations and connotations within a film/tv drama poster of their choice - due 18/9.

7. Summer work on edulink 

8. Massolit 24.9 - BF, LT, CB, JR

9. Newspaper front pages 24.9

10. Children of Men Analysis October 3rd (500 words on how meaning is created through the use of narrative, themes and film language in the opening scene of Children of Men)  

11. Industry overview notes October 3rd 

12. Industry intro notes 

13. Industry presentations begin October 6th 

14. Stuart Hall examples to demonstrate knowledge

15. Applying LIAR to Gillette advert 

16. Practise edit final week

Vocabulary, website and print examples, cover analyses and DM front page construction

SNOWCHI (both films on one google slides) must include:

We need to understand a little about the background to the BBC, including how it is funded, how it is regulated and how it is publicly owned. Research the BBC and answer the following questions.
